Harry practicing for his 12 Hour Shift

Harry Gibson’s Crazy Catch 12 Hour Shift | NHS and Care Home worker fundraiser!

Harry has postponed his Crazy Catch 12 Shift until Friday 1st May 2020. See below Tweet:

Key workers across the country are tirelessly supporting the COVID-19 frontlines as Doctors, Nurses, Health Care staff, Supermarket staff, Couriers, Teachers and many more. Many of us staying at home to flatten the curve of COVID-19 are coming up with innovative ways of giving back to them to show their appreciation.

Captain Tom Moore has walked 100 lengths of his garden before turning 100 years of age – raising in excess of £28.5m; People are running 5km, Donating £5 and then nominating a further 5 people to do the same, in the name of Run For Heroes – raising in excess of £4.8m; and Joe Wicks is donating all of the money earned from his ‘PE with Joe’ live streams to the NHS Charities Together – recently posted by Joe on his Instagram of over £91,000. These truly are amazing times for people getting active in the name of excellent causes.

Harry Gibson is no exception to this! Harry’s grandmother recently passed away in a care home, He felt compelled to contribute and give back to those that did such an amazing job in looking after her for the past few years. Inspired by all the courageous and inspirational acts of kindness, an idea came to him as he was brushing his teeth one evening…

Now, NHS and Health Care workers often work 12 hour shifts – and that could not be more common during these testing times in the health care system. In honour of the long 12 hour shifts that these exceptional people work for us, Harry has decided to complete a challenge last that long. Thinking about his current skill set as a Hockey Goalkeeper and what he does to stay sharp at home, which is use his Crazy Catch, Harry had his challenge set up right in front of him.

On Wednesday 29th March 2020, Harry will throw and catch a ball against a Crazy Catch rebound net for a 12 hour period and live stream the entire thing at the same time!

Here at Crazy Catch UK, we are incredibly appreciative in being a part of Harry’s amazing cause and fundraiser; and want to do all we can to help him! We have updated Harry’s Crazy Catch by sending him a Wildchild Classic 2.0 plus a load of our Vision Balls, so there is no need for him to worry about equipment! Check him practising for the challenge by doing the Petr Cech Challenege in an Instagram post of his below:

Petr Cech actually saw this video of Harry’s, wished him good luck and donated to his fundraiser on JustGiving! Talk about #GKUnion

Harry originally set his target fundraising goal as £1,000, BUT that target was broken in just over 48 hours of Harry launching the JustGiving page! He has received so much support from all of his followers and the wider sporting community!
